Range Rover Classic two door Tuscan blue Barnfind 27/02/2025

I am a member of a Classic Range Rover group on Facebook because of my RRCC .
on the 24/02/2025
I was just going through some posts in that group when I came a cross a post showing a very rough two door on a trailer, the member was asking for advice on what he should do with his recent acquisition.
I was following the comments when a gentleman joined in named Tony, he replied to the post by saying “ you should buy my old classic that’s been in the garage 25 years and build a good one out of the two” My ears pricked up at this comment so straight away I commented “is she for sale Tony?” He replied saying it was, I asked Tony to message me the information which he did.
We spoke about value and Tony thought the car was worth between £7000-£9000, I asked if I could view the car soon, Tony agreed and on 27/02/2025 George and i swept off for Huddersfield.
we arrived bang on time as usual and met Tony at his home address, Tony told me he had the car for 25 or so years and many times nearly turned it into a Bobtail, thankfully this never happened, Tony then asked us to follow him a few miles to the lockup to view the car, as you can see it was stored in an ex council garage just off a housing estate, you would never have known this was here.
Tony walked over to the garage and opened the padlock then slowly creaked open the up and over door, I was so excited to peer in, as the sun dust was orbiting the light that shone into the garage my eyes took a little time to focus and slowly the beautiful Tuscan blue colour came through the dust.
I had a Tuscan Blue RRC in the 1990s and because it was a two door I didn’t really appreciate it.
anyway, seeing this one really made me want one again, we uncovered the car of all the blankets, bike parts, building items etc etc and there she stood.
George didn’t seem as enthusiastic as I but that’s because he saw the state of her, we eventually got the bonnet open and the fur on the carburettors looked like when you used to go fishing for carp with balls of bread and after being in the water for ten minutes looked like cotton wool balls.
it wasn’t a good sight.
she really isn’t in the best shape but she is a 1972 car and is definitely worth saving.
Tony was a hard man to deal with but we eventually thrashed a deal out which included me loosing a coin toss gamble (which cost me £250 extra)
I gave Tony £1000 deposit and we shook hands, the deal was done, we agreed I would collect the car in three weeks time.

Tony then said he also had an MGB roadster in another garage about three miles away so we went to view that too.
