This engine block is from our 1931 4 litre Bentley, the vehicle was in Canada for most of her life, I suspect the massive crack was caused whilst she was unloved in the 1950s which was around the last time she was on the road.
normally this kind of damage to an engine block would be the end of it economically, however with only 50 4 litres ever built and possibly only 30 still in existence, we were forced to try our best to save her.
Lee our amazing engineer came up with the idea of inlaying a piece of cast iron into the block, so he milled out the cracked area and made two inserts that were pressed in surrounded in #jbweld.
the block was then skimmed to clean up the repair.

more work this week on the B80 and B61 engines, doing away with those heavy ugly industrial looking pulleys.
we are now supplying these as sets of three, crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley and alternator pulley.
we will have them on the shelf by the end of the week.
